Yipee! I'm 6 months old today!!
Isn't my new bath seat great?!!
That's right! Our Little Miss Maggie is 6 months old today. I can't believe half of a year has gone by already. Where does the time go?!!!
Maggie was weighed today at a playgroup and was 17 lbs! It must be the new foods she's trying that's putting the weight on so fast. She's growing out of her clothes faster than ever before, in most of her clothes she's wearing the 12 month size already.
Now that we've figured out that when she's cranky she wants to go to sleep, she's very much a pleasant little girl. She's able to sit up and play on her own or with other babies and also loves to be bounced around and tickled by mommy or daddy.
Her sleep routine is great. She goes to sleep at around 7:15 and usually wakes once during the night for a feeding and then back to sleep until 7:00am. We can usually hear her in the morning in her crib just playing with her toes and blowing bubbles. When Chad gets up and calls out her name, she's starts kicking her legs up and down and laughing in excitement, it's like she hasn't seen him in days! It's so cute.
We've moved from feeding her just cereals to vegtables. So far we've tried sweet potatoes, carrots, white potatoes and green peas. She eats it all! Sometimes we have to mix it with cereal to disguise the taste, but after a few days, she's eating the pureed vegtable on it's own. All of these veggies are leading to quite interesting bowel movements though. Let's just say what goes in must come out. ;-)
As for our house, we get the keys on Friday!!! Yeehaw! It's finally here! We're so excited we can hardly sleep. Although we're not moving in until the middle of March, we are planning a weekend sleep-over. Tomorrow is going to be the longest day ever!!

Sleep Bootcamp
Ya-hoo! It's now been officially 2 weeks of Baby Sleep Bootcamp and Maggie seems to have learned to fall asleep on her own. For those of you who don't know what the Bootcamp is, it is our little sleep program we initiated based on a program of the SuperNanny called the Controlled-Crying Technique. We started by putting Maggie in her crib when she was tired, but not asleep, and going in to soothe her after increasing longer periods of time (5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins, etc). The first night she cried for a very, very long time, but now we just feed, cuddle and sing to her, then put her down in her crib with her blankie and within 5 minutes, she's asleep!! She usually wakes once in the night for a feeding and then back to sleep until 6 or 7 am. It's great! Chad and I also take turns with the night-time duty and it feels great now to get a full 7-8 hours of sleep every second night.
She still gets somewhat fussy around 6:30pm which we're guessing is her way of telling us she's ready for sleep. A couple of nights ago, we put her in her jolly jumper to really wear her out for bedtime, but just watch what happens when you put a cranky baby and her love for jumping together... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbAsTvzTbvs
