Little Miss Maggie

September 2007

September has been quite an exciting month for little miss Maggie.

We had a little sleep over with Xander on the first weekend. Both Maggie and Xander seemed to love it. They were so excited when they saw each other in the morning; they kept squealing and laughing at each other.

Now that the grass is settled, Maggie can play in her sandbox in the back yard. She wants to go out there as soon as she gets up in the morning!

You still have to keep a close eye on her in the back yard though. Falling in those rather deep window wells can be quite scary!

On another warm weekend, we took the kiddies to an apple orchard where they helped pick apples, went for a tractor cart ride, ate yummy cider donuts and played in the hay.

Maggie has now found a new favourite food, Apples!!

Near the end of the month, Maggie finally started to strut around with confidence. She now walks everywhere and quickly says "NO!" when you try to hold her hand (unless she's trying to drag you to the cupboard to get her a treat).
This past weekend, we took Maggie on a hike in Gatineau park. Let's just say that the hike we chose wasn't really stroller-friendly. But Maggie loved all the bumping around!
Some of the hike was just too hard for a stroller
After our hike, we had a little picnic of sandwiches (it was Maggie's first sandwich), yogurt and of course apples.
Open wide!

"Daa-daa-daa-daa!" For those of you interested in a picture of our house as a finished product, here you go!

Labour Day Weekend

What a great Labour Day weekend for the little Lush family!
On Saturday, Daddy, Maggie and Mommy went to Montebello, Quebec to visit Omega Park which is a drive-through animal park full of animals living in their natural habitat. We saw deers, buffalos, bears, moose, caribou, elk, and lots, lots more. We even got to feed some of the animals from our car window! Maggie wasn't fond of the animals sticking their nose it the car, nor did she like giving up her carrot; she would say "No, No, No!"
Here are some pictures from the park.

On Sunday, we went to the Wave Pool to take in some indoor wave action. Maggie was very happy to play in the kiddie pool where she'd walk around balancing herself on a foam floating board and drinking dirty pool water out of a bucket. However, she wasn't so content to be in the waves, it was much to rough for her.
On Monday, we drove to Brockville for lunch and a 1000 Islands Boat Tour. Maggie ended up soiling the pretty dress she was wearing, our lunch was too late arriving so we had to doggie-bag it and race to the boat, where Chad realized he had lost our tickets for the tour... Luckily the girl taking the tickets felt sorry for us and let us on anyway.
Maggie wasn't too excited about the whole tour. She just wanted to play on the floor under the benches. Here are some pics.

Here are some other pics taken over the past week.

Guess what?! We've finally got grass!!!

"Yippee!! This squirting water thingy is great!!"

"A little cold though"

Here's mommy at 19 weeks pregnant.

Bye for now!
